I graduated with my BS in Finance from the Whitman School of Management in 2012. Immediately after, I decided I want to obtain a Masters degree abroad. I applied for the Mountbatten Program's MBA program and was accepted. In August 2012, I embarked on my journey to London as a Mountbatten where I was a full time student and intern at UBS Investment Bank. The year with UBS taught me so much about financial reporting for the FX and Rates & Credit business and allowed me to form lasting bonds with my team members there. Following my year in London I ventured to Thailand to conduct my dissertation research for four months.  It was during this time that I was able to fully immerse myself in a totally different culture while I studied the role of Business Incubators in Neighborhood Revitalization and took additional electives for my MBA. After returning to the United States in December 2014, I served as a consultant for Morgan Stanley Fund Services in Purchase, NY and in July 2014 I began my role as Credit Risk Management Analyst with KeyBank in Cleveland, OH. My experiences as a Mountbatten have definitely made me a stand candidate during interviews. My managers are always intrigued by the program and how much traveling I have done! In addition my role at UBS gave me the opportunity expand on technical and soft skills that I currently leverage in my new role. Mountbatten is definitely a wonderful investment in your future and exceptional network of talent from all over the world!

I wouldn't be in my position today if it weren't for Mountbatten. Not only does the program give you the opportunity to meet great people and build your network, but you also make friends that will last a lifetime with memories you'll never forget. You have access to global opportunities, whether it's for work or fun, and it's your responsibility to make the most of it. Mountbatten also allows you to see the world in a more global perspective and places you in roles that you wouldn't get otherwise. For me, I was able to get my role out of the program at HSBC in NYC (I was in Chicago) solely because of my experience at UBS and education from St. Mary's. I've now just started my second position in NYC at BlackRock because my manager from London recruited me to her team when she joined the company. Without Mountbatten, both of these opportunities wouldn't have been available.

Mountbatten is a unique and very rewarding program that has changed my life for nothing but the better. The work experience has been invaluable to my career. I worked in marketing and communications for Thomson Reuters in London and now I've been able to continue after my year with the company in New York City. Over the year in London I developed lifelong friendships and an even stronger passion for world travel and global businesses. I would recommend Mountbatten to anyone who is looking to further their career, education or personal development as a global citizen.

Mountbatten was the perfect combination of everything I was looking for in a program that would let me live, work and study in the UK. The Postgraduate Certificate allowed me to have a mix of educational experiences overseas and added value to my resume. I was able to get a job in New York City after the completion of the program and wouldn't have had such an amazing opportunity if it weren't for the Mountbatten program. No matter the ups or downs, it is the best year of your life!

Joining the Mountbatten Program is a fantastic way to learn invaluable new skills, such as working with a global team, in a challenging, yet supportive environment. Succeeding in an industry that I knew nothing about was a great confidence builder when I returned to the States to look for work. My experience in London with the programme helped me stand out from the other candidates when interviewing for my position at the BBC in New York - during my interview the hiring manager said it would be great to have someone in the position who had actually watched the BBC!

Mountbatten has been one of the best years of my life. Professionally, I feel I have learned a great deal and gained some priceless work experience. The company treats you like a real employee, but still understands that you are learning on the job. Personally, it is great to be submersed in a culture and see what it is really like from another point of view. The amount of travel you are allowed to do offers a great way to experience the European culture as well. Academically, you have to stay organised and on top of your studies. Having so much to do in each of these areas makes the year go by incredibly quickly, but it is a great time.

The Mountbatten Program has proved to be the most remarkable experience and it was the launch pad for my career. I started my career with Deutsche Bank in Mumbai and it was Deutsche Bank in association with Mountbatten, which gave me the break to represent and work at an international level and gain international exposure. Not only were my trainer and my work colleagues very supportive and gave me nurturing along with the ability to learn but they also and gave me inputs for my Mountbatten projects as well. The Mountbatten course included practical projects, which we embedded in our work. We also travelled and explored the cultural diversities of many parts of the UK and Europe, which gave me a new dimension of thinking – I still have fresh memories of beautiful places we visited.

Throughout my work placement I became more mature and groomed, not only professionally but also personally. I have learned the British style of work etiquette and personal etiquette. I have no doubt that this transformation has added to my future endeavours. It was a fantastic idea of Mountbatten to teach about British, American and rich Indian culture. I am very proud and can sense the accomplishment. I have certainly made friends with Deutsche Bank peers, American interns and Mountbatten for life. This programme was an entire package of tons of learning, fun, travelling and it is something I will cherish for the whole of my life. To future participants I would say, "Go for it, enjoy and have a rocking Mountbatten year".

I chose the MBA because I felt it would be more enriching and would expose me to more markets and environments. My time in Bangkok was wonderful. I would not be in Beijing learning Mandarin and working as a Corporate Trainer if I had not found Mountbatten.

The Mountbatten Program provides a fantastic opportunity to live and work in London. I learned an immense amount about the financial industry, as we all know London is the world's Financial Hub. I am now able to understand the financial markets in depth. Also, I made friends from different cultures and countries on the programme, for which I am incredibly grateful. I think that for people like me who want to pursue further in education, Mountbatten is the correct way a person should follow. The Mountbatten experience was one of my life's most memorable years, which I would never forget in my life.

The Mountbatten experience in London was nothing short of a Dream which lasted for almost a year! Having got an opportunity to work at the one of the prime financial centres of the world with one of the most reputed organisations in Deutsche Bank AG, it was just the opportunity any fresh graduate would desire and when it was provided by DBOI GS I decided to grab it with both hands. The unique TWES scheme allowed me to hone my skills both personally and professionally. In the Indian culture children do not generally move away from homes to study unlike the west, so the placement provided me an opportunity to live a full year alone and do things everything by myself and when we were also doing a full time internship one could not put the foot off the gas at work also.

The academics and work keep you engaged all around the year. The placement though is planned in a very good manner and interns are able to make full use of the free time to see the beautiful sights around UK and explore Europe as well. The competitive nature of the course and continuous feedback to manager on assignments keep everyone on their toes in terms of performance. The professional and personal learning's are best experienced by the individual and can differ according to the priorities of people. Living alone helps to make a lot of friends whom you can always network on your way to the top in future. The only thing which matters whilst taking up the work placement is your attitude and if you are like the sponge which absorbs everything in the positive stead then you are sure to succeed, as the saying goes "When the going gets Tough the Tough get going". The year can play a major role in your career if you work towards it with the right attitude. It surely has helped me and I am thankful to Mountbatten and Deutsche Bank for providing me with the opportunity.

The Mountbatten Program was a great choice for me following graduation from college in the spring of 2006. The programme provided me the opportunity to gain many meaningful experiences by both living and working abroad during a twelve month period. My work position was with UBS Investment Bank in the Operations department located in the financial district in downtown London. The position was challenging and provided me with a great one year work experience as well as a great inside look into the corporate culture of an international firm. I worked alongside an international team and was provided with adequate training and then a large amount of responsibility within the team. Like many other Mountbatten's, I excelled within my team and made good contacts within the company that resulted in being hired at the completion of the program in the United States.

The Program provided me the necessary support and positive reinforcement as a young foreigner working abroad. The provided living accommodations were more than adequate and monthly stipend allowed me to live comfortably as well as have fun and travel in London and Europe. The September 2006 Mountbatten intake of approximately 100 recent college graduates from around the United States quickly formed close friendships, worked together for their host companies, traveled together in Europe and remained close friends following the completion of the program and return home. I have personally recommended the program to high school and college friends some of whom have applied, been accepted and thoroughly enjoyed the Mountbatten experience. I would highly recommend the Mountbatten International Graduate Program to any young college graduate with a keen interest or degree in business with the desire to gain international work experience.

The Mountbatten programme gave me the exposure and experience I needed to put my degree to work, and get my career on track – and I got to meet some really great people along the way. The budget and accommodation constraints can be stressful sometimes, but it’s really not too tough to get past that. The staff do a great job putting it all together, and it’s only getting better. This is a great opportunity, check it out.
