Welcome to the Alumni Newsletter

February 2012

Well, with the beautiful weather in the UK recently, it really does feel like spring is only just around the corner. This is great news all round and seems to be reflected in an increase in activities, including job openings, as well as social and sporting events.

Please find the relevant sections for your areas of interest in our newsletter and, as always, remember we welcome your feedback and are happy to publicise your events, employment positions and career updates.

Here’s to spring…

March 09 MBA Completion Ceremony - Bangkok

Theatrical Alumni

Kate Denby (May 2002 - New York) completed her internship at the Big Apple Circus and returned to the UK to pursue a career in the performing arts. Nine years later she is now Executive Producer at The Gate Theatre in Notting Hill and in a couple of weeks she is returning to New York (for the first time since her internship ended!) to present a show she has produced herself. Read Kate's full story and find more info about the show and book tickets.

Charitable Alumni

Chevon Morgan (September 2002 - New York) has been extremely busy starting a new job at Amnesty International UK, and is involved in one of their most iconic events in New York this year for the first time ever, in celebration of AIUK's 50th birthday. Find out details of The Secret Policeman's Ball, with a bill that includes Coldplay, Mumford and Sons and Russell Brand.
Book tickets now.

2012 - Year of Sport

We have two more great sporting endeavours, past and present, to keep you all thinking actively this year.

Mark (second on the right) with fellow interns and alumni, Mountbatten Football Tournament - June 2010 - London

Mark Schulz (August 2010 - London) gives an entertaining account of a group of American interns' first foray into the world of "soccer"..., which they amazingly won! Read Full Story.

Meanwhile, stateside the Mountbatten Mountain Goats (a group of "Mounties" on the New York programme) are taking part this coming weekend in The Snowbowl Flag Football Tournament. Any support that alumni can give, in terms of attendance or donations, will be truly welcome.

Jobs

An opportunity to work for Mountbatten:
We are delighted to announce that the Admissions Manager position we advertised in our New York office, has now been filled by one of our Alumni.

The jobs section is pretty buoyant at the moment, which is good news for returning alumni both sides of the Atlantic. Check all available opportunities.

In addition, the Institute is increasingly being contacted by a number of recruitment agencies, who are showing a keen interest in our alumni. This is great news, as it demonstrates how the reputation of Mountbatten excellence is spreading far and wide.
