Describe your business and your role within it.
I'm the CEO of CultureBanx, a media company redefining business news for black professionals. We create market driven finance, tech and innovation stories all through a culturally attuned lens.

How did you go about setting it up and getting established?
I got the ball rolling by launching my newsletter and website. Since CultureBanx is a digital first news company, my entire team works remotely. I spend the majority of my time working out of my backpack around New York City!

What else is in the pipeline?
In addition to our newsletter, website and daily audio news brief, CultureBanx is getting ready to launch video as we expand, on how we deliver business news for the culture!

What has been the proudest moment in your working life thus far?
There isn't one single moment that I'm proudest of but more so a collection of things that have allowed me to create a first of its kind business news company geared specifically towards minorities. One of our many standout moments include Elon Musk tweeting to our company about story we did on Tesla!

What has been your biggest mistake/learning experience?
My biggest learning experience has been operating in the mindset of "failing fast." By failing fast you're able to take bigger risks and quickly recover from the ones that don't work out.

Any words of advice/wisdom would you impart to others thinking of setting up their own business?
Don't let other people determine what a successful business model is. You are the ultimate gatekeeper and protector of your idea, so no outside affirmation is needed in order for your company to be great because you are already enough!
